Dr. Chin Ng

Dr. Chin Ng graduated from The University of Melbourne (MBBS) in 1997 and underwent basic physician training in Adelaide before he was accepted into rheumatology advanced training at the Royal Brisbane Hospital in 2004 and completed the training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2006. During this period of advanced training, he has gained experience in clinical pharmacology and involved in rheumatoid arthritis related research at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Upon gaining his rheumatology specialist qualification in 2006, Dr. Chin Ng set up his private practice at Sunnybank. On the public front, he remains as a visiting consultant at the Princess Alexandra Hospital with regular sessions at Rheumatoid arthritis, Spondyloarthropathy, Connective tissue disease and new case clinic since 2006. He has accumulated extensive rheumatology experience practicing as a rheumatology consultant for 20 years. He has also helped set up biologics clinic at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and subsequently ran it for 8 years.

He enjoys working alongside his peers at the hospital and believes that peers interactions provide vital opportunities for rigorous examination and discussion of complex cases, which is an essential part of his professional development.

He attends monthly radiology and histopathology meetings at the hospital and regular Australian Rheumatology Association meetings and conference to keep up to date with the progress in the field.

He is also involved in teaching medical students and basic physician trainees and supervises rheumatology advanced trainees at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Apart from English, Dr. Chin Ng is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay. He is sensitive to multiculturalism from years of practicing at Brisbane southside.

Dr. Chin Ng’s main room is at Sunnybank. He visits Sunnybank Private Hospital for inpatient consult. He is also consulting at Cleveland House Visiting Specialist Centre at Cleveland.

    Dr. Ravini Gunawardana De Silva

    Dr. Ravini Gunawardana De Silva is a dedicated rheumatologist with a strong commitment to patient care, medical education, and ongoing professional development. She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Queensland in 2012. Following graduation, she undertook her basic physician training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Ipswich Hospital, and the Mater Hospital in Brisbane.

    Her advanced rheumatology training began at the Gold Coast University Hospital, where she gained extensive experience managing a broad spectrum of rheumatological conditions. This included inflammatory arthritis, vasculitis, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), autoinflammatory disorders, and other complex and rare rheumatologic entities. Her training continued at the Prince Charles Hospital and was completed at the Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) Jubilee Hospital.

    Dr. De Silva remains actively involved in medical education at QEII Hospital, where she supports basic physician trainees and helps coordinate the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) examinations.

    She is passionate about remaining up to date in the field of rheumatology and regularly attends both national and international conferences, including EULAR (European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology), ARA (Australian Rheumatology Association), and APLAR (Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology).

    Dr. De Silva also contributes to medical student education and assessment, serving as an examiner for University of Queensland medical exams and holding the title of Associate Lecturer with the university.

    Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, reading, choreographing and dancing, and engaging in arts and crafts. Dr. De Silva is fluent in both English and Sinhalese, and brings a compassionate, inclusive, and culturally sensitive approach to her care.

    Dr. Chin Ng consults at Sunnybank on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, at Cleveland on Tuesday and one Friday a month.

    Dr. Ravini de Silva consults at Sunnybank on Monday and Tuesday.
